Mark Koester
Architect
Mark is a California-licensed architect with over 25 years of experience in architectural design and construction management. Mark designs custom family homes, resort residences, and luxury residential and senior living communities throughout the U.S., Asia, and Latin America, with over 70 projects estimated at $7 billion in real-estate value. Prior to starting Mayacamas Architects, Mark founded ARIEL Sustainable Technologies, Inc., and was a Principal/Owner at BAR Architects in San Francisco. Originally hailing from Oregon, Mark attended Portland State University's School of Architecture and Oregon State University's School of Engineering/Construction Management. At OSU Mark was a member of the Pac10 Collegiate Ski Team. Mark and his wife Lisa lived in the Stag's Leap District of Napa Valley for a number of years before moving to Marin County as founder of ARIEL. Andrew Gansa
Architect
A California-licensed architect, Andrew brings 30 years of hands-on experience in both architectural design and construction to each project. He worked for Prats+Coffee in Los Angeles, followed by 8 years at GR&A in his hometown of San Francisco, where he collaborated on large transit projects including Boarding Area A at San Francisco International Airport, passenger stations for the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) district and on mixed-use residential and high-end senior living projects with BAR Architects. Andrew and his wife Sarah moved to Calistoga in 2004 to raise a family (near Sarah’s hometown of St. Helena). There, Andrew founded AG Architects and began designing high-end residences and worked for Oakmont where he was Lead Architect for a number of award-winning senior living buildings including Fountaingrove Lodge in Santa Rosa. Andrew has a BA from Stanford University and a master's from the UCLA Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Planning.
